There are four main modes on Bixby:

  • Bixby Home
  • Bixby Vision
  • Bixby Voice
  • Bixby Reminders

Bixby Reminder is an application that you can access in the App Drawer.

To use the Bixby Voice feature to talk to the assistant you can press and hold the Bixby key.

To have access to Bixby Vision, you need to open up your smartphone camera and then tap on the Bixby icon there.

In the last, to go to Bixby Home, you can swipe to the right on your home screen, or you can just press the physical Bixby key.

How to Disable Bixby on Samsung Smartphones – Android Pie Users

As I already mentioned above that recent flagship smartphones from Samsung are coming with a dedicated Bixby button on the side of the handset.

It has started to come with from Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus models and now onwards.

The dedicated button is there to encourage the users to use its voice assistant for some specific purposes such as navigations, calls, or any other queries that you can think of in your mind. More visit: AmazeInvent

Though, if you guys are not in the habit of using this feature, or you just don’t want to use it for any reason, it can be an irritating waste of button functionality for sure.

For all the Samsung smartphones with the Android Pie operating system on them, you can just swipe right on your home screen that will let you into the hub, and from there you can easily toggle off the “Bixby Key” to disable for as long as you want to.

If you want to remap the Bixby key onto any other function, you will have to go to Settings > Advanced Features > Bixby Key. There you can remap this key as you like.

If you guys want to delete and go to the menu pane entirely off your Samsung smartphone, you will have to press down and hold on a blank section of your home screen, this will bring all menu panes of your smartphone into view for you.

You will see a toggle in the top right corner of the Bixby Home pane, toggle it off to remove, and go to the menu pane entirely off your smartphone. And there you go, you have done.

How to Disable Bixby on Samsung Smartphones – Android Oreo Users

For all the smartphone phones that are having an older Android Oreo operating system, click on the Bixby button that had situated under the volume control buttons, or just swipe right on the home screen of your smartphone to go into the Bixby Home menu pane.

Once you are in this, click on the three-dotted menu and then go to Settings and then Bixby Voice.

From there, you can also uncheck on the Bixby Key option to stop the functionality of the side Bixby Key button on your Samsung that can summon the assistant by accident as well.

Just as like on with Android Pie, if you want to remove the Bixby Home menu pane entirely off your Samsung smartphone.

Then you will have to press down and hold on to a blank space on the home screen of your smartphone until various menu panes of your smartphone come into view for you.

From there, you can easily toggle off the Bixby Home menu pane in the very top right corner of the Bixby Home page to remove it completely.

For all the people out there who don’t like to shout out commands to an immaterial robot voice, it is by no means necessary for you to have this feature on.

All the televisions still ship with physical remote controllers, now there are even some voice-activated smart speakers that can have used for Bluetooth music without even having to utter the name of the assistant.

The remote controller that you get with the premium Samsung Television also uses a ‘hold to speak’ feature.
