How To Fix Static Noise In Headphones?

Do you hear an unpleasant sound coming from your headset? Can you hear white noise in a completely disturbing background? If the exacerbating static noise is bothering you, you’re in the right place.

Some time ago, the Xbox One headphones sounded like a big distraction from the gambling experience.

When I look at the problems online, I see that there are many solutions to these problems. But they all come down to understanding what the source is.

Many cause the sound to be static noise, including misplaced devices, poor equipment maintenance, outdated software, and hardware failure.

Below are some of the most common sources of static sound and tips on how to fix the problem.

Check your Hardware

Separate the cable

First, reorganize the code that connects the peripherals to your computer.

Wires contain signals that can disturb each other and cause loud or background noise in your audio device.

If the headphone cord comes in contact with other cables, it can cause static noise in the headset.

Switching audio jacks

During a conference call, or if you need an urgent fix for a static noise problem, try connecting your device to a different jack. If you regularly use the front jack, try the back.

Alternatively, make sure the speaker has an audio jack so that the headphones do not get stuck on the back of the speaker.

Hopefully, the problem will be resolved temporarily until you find the root of the problem and fix it permanently.

Clean the Equipment

From time to time, all you need to do for your device to function properly is to monitor it. Therefore, wipe the dust off from both sides of your computer.

Dust around the sound card can cause unwanted background noise from the headphone due to damage or overheating of the sound card.

Clean Jack

Do not ignore the audio jack and clean it often. It is not a bad thing for the interior hope to be quiet. Therefore, try to clean the jack before buying new headphones.

Things necessary :

  • Isopropyl alcohol.
  • Cotton swab.

The first thing you need to do when doing hardware cleaning and maintenance is to turn off your computer and unplug the power cord from the outlet.

Use a cotton swab in alcohol to remove excess liquid and keep the container wet. It will prevent the alcohol from evaporating quickly and dripping onto your computer.

Gently put the top of the hole into the headphone jack and move it back and forth to clean it.

Repeat the process with a few cotton swabs until the top is completely clean. Allow it to dry for a few minutes before continuing to use the headset without static electricity.

Update your Gadgets

Install a new sound card:

If you are using a cheap sound card integrated into your computer isn’t enough. You may have static electricity during playback.

In case, you can solve the problem by replacing it with a new dedicated sound card. Fortunately, you can do it yourself by following the steps below.

  • Check the PCI or PCI Express slot to find out which card fits in your computer’s motherboard.
  • Once you buy the card and are ready to insert it, make sure you shut down your system. And remove the power cords before you open the computer.
  • Remove the screw from your current sound card, extract the audio lead from it, and extract the card.
  • Take your new sound card from its anti-static packaging and slowly add it to the corresponding slot. Make sure it is fixed correctly and firmly.
  • Secure the sound card to the computer frame with a screw, close the case, and then plug the computer and external devices.

Follow the sound card manufacturer’s instructions carefully to install sound drivers.

Quality headset

Failure to do all of the above could mean that there is something wrong with your headset. To rule it out, test it on other devices, such as a phone or another computer, and check for feedback noise.

Cheap, low-quality headphones make a modest sound that rides with feedback. If that’s the case, invest your best in a high-quality headset to keep your voice and content satisfied for years to come.

As discussed above, I recommend choosing a Bluetooth headset as few wires cause noise to my contacts. Alternatively, if you’re wondering how to remove the stand from the mic, go for a headset with a noise-reduction microphone.
