How to Clear the Cache on Xbox One

The Xbox One looks a lot like a very special computer and has a case just like a computer. A cache is a type of storage that Xbox One uses for data that needs to be quickly retrieved regularly.

When the case is full, the Xbox One can’t store and retrieve important data efficiently, which can slow down the console significantly.

If you notice performance issues on your Xbox One, try cleaning your cabinet.

Clearing a case on Xbox One deletes temporary data that games and applications use to speed things up. If this data is collected over time, it can slow down the console.

In some cases, you may even get a warning that your closet is full. You’ll need to clean your case to restore full operation on your Xbox One.

Cleaning up the cache will delete the temporary data, but it will not affect game data, stored data, achievements, etc. All downloaded games, applications, movies, and apps will remain intact.
