I don’t think there is one best way to convert your Amazon gift into cash.
It all depends on your situation that a Gift card is only worth as much as you need cash fast.
However, there are several ways to get cash for your unwanted Amazon GC or other types of the gift card, for that matter.
Here are some options are given below :
Use Reddit
Reddit has a dedicated subreddit for gift card exchanges where you can trade unwanted gift cards in cash or other gift cards.
You will need an account first free of cost if you are not a member of Reddit yet.
Then go to /r/ gift card exchange, create a post with details about your card, how much it costs you want for it. And wait for other editors to respond.
You can also use a subreddit named /r/ barter.
- In this subcategory, people often exchange available goods rather than gift cards and gift certificate codes. But you might as well find someone who will be willing to pay in cash for your Amazon gift card.
Buy items for family or friends and get cash in exchange :
Ask your family or friends if they need stuff from Amazon. If so, buy them and ask you to give them money. Also, if you don’t have friends or family who need something worth $500, some need something worth $50 to $100.
Sell your $500 Amazon Gift Card on eBay for $520
Amazon can only sell Gift cards, but it seems to sell them at an equal price. I was puzzled when I saw people buying a $50 Amazon gift card for $57.99.
So I searched for it, and there may be several reasons why people pay more than face value from what I collect.
The first theory is that people from other countries buy them and somehow take advantage of the currency conversion. So for them, it is a win.
Another is that buyers use cashback sites to shop on eBay. Sometimes cashback sites have promotions where they can earn more than a few extra dollars paid to GC.
And if you are unsure about it, you can always sell the gift card at its face value or as low as a few dollars. I have seen it on eBay and sell many gift cards, including 100% at or near 100% face value.
Sell on Craigslist
- You may need to sell it for a little less than its value, but it’s probably the fastest way to get cash on your hands.
- You can sell a $500 Amazon gift card for $450 or $430.If not, and you don’t mind, lower the asking price.
Ask Amazon for Cash
It is a crazy idea, and I know that, but Amazon has impressive customer support, and they are famous.
- You may be lucky.
- It won’t cost you but a few minutes of your time to contact Amazon support and ask for them.
- The worst thing is that they refuse.

Use the Coin Star

Buy groceries and pay yourself in cash
Most of us shop for groceries several times a week. But you can buy some on Amazon now if you need cash in one week instead of buying from your grocery store next week.
And paying cash from your next paycheck, buy groceries on Amazon now with a card, and then pay your equivalent in cash.
